The costumes on a show like this are evidently big budget works, fantastically designed and produced for performance purposes rather than for a genuine period effect.
Something we had previously been worried about was how we could develop a piece that wouldn't look limp and shabbily student made. However the energy on a show like this and slap stick entertainment style is so watchable and you could watch the show over & over, and still enjoy the warmth of the choreography & the stress of sourcing 100% serious staging & locations for each scene.
The back drops & outfits are evidently constructed by a high finance corporation & is something we could never afford. However in relation to the scenery and additional props they are minimal (not in their extravagance of course) in terms of the stage space they occupy. This idea of 'minimal luxury' is something we too should aim for, to concentrate on making the items we have obtained and the ideas that are plausible for each scene happen, rather than going over board and developing something which looks unprofessional and incomplete. This balance should hopefully allow us to more effectively construct a Music Video which amplifies the idea that our protagonist is on a mental journey of discovery, rather than a physical one.
